Whether it is the first day of school, or last day of the year, the reality is, ANY DAY can be an overwhelming day for a toddler.

While all eyes and effort are set on the toddler, we must not forget the health and well-being of parents and caregivers. Toddler's separation anxiety can be stressful for daddies and mummies too. If you have been through this process, you would understand there is no ONE solution for this issue as each toddler has their own separation anxiety 'styles'.

For me, the key is NEVER STOP EXPERIMENTING!

A simple A-Z list to help you through your journey...

A - Allocate time for morning goodbyes

B - be Brave to let your child grow while you are away C - stay Calm D - Divert their attention, every few seconds, or minutes (keep them occupied)

E - Expect them to cry, throw tantrums and cling onto you Everyday, yes, Everyday

F - never forget the important roles of a Father

G - Give you and your child time to adjust (after all, it's a learning curve for everyone)

H - Hugging triggers the release of oxytocin, or known as love hormones

I - In the end, it will all be okay

J - a Joke a day, keeps the crying away (even if they don't get it, they sure enjoy laughter)

K - love ain't complete without a Kiss

L - Look for help if you really cannot hold the stress to yourself anymore

M - Make everyday count as they grow up really fast

N - it is Not as bad as you think it is

O - keep Observing about what works and what don't

P - Praise like sunlight, helps all things grow

Q - Question their daily school routine, even if you don't find it interesting

R - make sure you get enough Rest, out of your Rest time

S - keep Smiling, a Smile is like sunshine and rainbow

T - to a child, love is spelled 'Time'

U - a 'United front' between parents can ease a child's confusion

V - routine is boring, come up with Various ways to get them ready for the day

W - Work hand-in-hand with teachers for more effective results

X - Xylophone or any music instruments help gives them a soothing sensation

Y - do simple Yoga exercise together with your child

Z - be prepared to start from ground Zero anytime

but the list does not stop here, cause we just have to KEEP TRYING!

REMEMBER, it is not what works best for us, but what suits the child.
